While we don’t book airline tickets, we recommend the best flight options and advise you on travel within Italy and Europe. The Small Print:
- No on-trip support. We can arrange that with travel advisors in Italy but this is an add-on option. We will provide itinerary before trip starts.
- After initial call, contract will be provided to client with specific details and exact information about services provided.
- 30 minute trip planning call is free of charge for up to three people.
- Generally, itineraries are for trips for up to four people.
The Hotel Small Print:
- All reservations are made in your name with your email; you are responsible for the management of those itineraries once they are made.
- Hotel reservations may be made on client’s behalf but client is responsible for modifications or cancellations.

First, we offer a FREE initial consultation, either in person if possible or via phone or video. During this consultation, we ask you for the basics of your claim.
Who is your Last Italian Born Registered Ancestor (your LIBRA)? We gather as much information as you have about this person – full name, birth and death dates, locations, and any historical documents. At the end of the call, we discuss next steps, provide estimated costs, and share insights on your claim based on the details you provide.
Because each case involves different ancestors and US states, it is difficult to give an exact quote for my services upfront. After the call, I send you a contract. I do not bill you for any of my time until you sign the contract.
Recent Changes in Jure Sanguinis
In October 2024, the Italian Ministry of the Interior released a new directive for Consulates and Comuni addressing the “Minor Issue.” This directive may negatively affect many people seeking dual citizenship, as it will cut off the Jure Sanguinis line for some applicants. We understand this issue clearly and are happy to schedule a call to determine if it affects you. The new rule now requires the first American-born ancestor to have reached adulthood (21 years old) before their parent(s) became US citizens.
In May 2025, Italy passed Law No. 74/2025, which significantly changes citizenship-by-bloodline (jus sanguinis) rules. Under the new law, only descendants within two generations—those with at least a parent or grandparent who was an Italian citizen and born in Italy—qualify for automatic citizenship. If you claim citizenship through a parent who naturalized as Italian (but was not Italian-born), that parent must have lived in Italy for at least two years before your birth or adoption. The new genuine-link requirement now obligates dual citizens born abroad to maintain an ongoing bond with Italy by voting, renewing documents, or registering vital records at least once every 25 years.
If you filed your application by March 27, 2025, or already received citizenship, you remain under the old rules. The new law also centralizes future administrative steps within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs instead of local consulates, shifting from the previous unlimited lineage model to one that prioritizes closer generational ties and a demonstrable connection to Italy.
