The Casino di Sanremo is one of the Italian Riviera’s most glamorous landmark that has been welcoming guests since 1905. Set in a grand, cream-colored Art Nouveau building along Corso degli Inglesi, it radiates old-world elegance with its sweeping staircase, ornate details, and softly glowing lights at night. Even if you’re not stepping inside to play, the casino is worth a visit for its architecture alone and the lively ambiance that spills into the surrounding streets. It remains a symbol of Sanremo’s golden-age charm and a reminder of the Riviera’s enduring allure.

Step inside this lovely bakery/cafe for a mid-afternoon treat. Coffee and a few kisses! Ligurian Baci — small, delicate cookies or confections that often feature local ingredients such as almonds, hazelnuts, or chocolate, sometimes filled with jam or cream. The word baci literally means “kisses” in Italian, so these treats are typically bite-sized and rich, intended to be savored in just a few bites.

This beach club is on the eastern side of Sanremo and offers rental lounge chairs with umbrellas. Their club has tasty aperitivo snacks and spritzes. We visited late in the afternoon as things were closing up on the beach but enjoyed the beautiful views and putting our feet in the sand. I would think that during a hot summer day, this is the place to be in Sanremo.

Omnilingua Language School is centrally located on via Roma in Sanremo. I attended this school for only one week but I hope to return for longer. The classes were organized and our instructor was great a explaining difficult grammatical concepts. We went on a tour of Sanremo on the first morning which was fun and helpful to get to know the town. We did not need to purchase a book, but worked off of sheets provided by the staff. Everyone at the office was very nice and helpful and I enjoyed meeting my classmates from all over the world.

Traditional Neapolitan pizza in Liguria! Spaccanapoli is a well known neighborhood in Naples and the restaurant in Sanremo definitely feels authentic. The pizza crust was light with many bubbles. We had two pizzas; one traditional margarita (as we always do) and one with prosciutto, fresh cherry tomatoes and arugula. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. We noticed a line of people waiting for their pizzas to go as well, so it’s clear folks in Sanremo love this spot.

This charming new restaurant came highly recommended by our VRBO host. The menu is small but every dish is packed with flavor. The coastal-inspired vibe is cozy, and the space is intimate, so reservations are a must. We started with a delightful pasta primi—a perfectly executed aglio e olio—followed by secondi of fresh fish and tender chicken, complemented by a lovely bottle of Tuscan Chianti. Dessert was a homemade masterpiece from the owner: a lemon cake with a limoncello filling that was both light and indulgent. We lingered over every course, savoring the meal and the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

A beautiful beach to rent a chair and read a book, or just walk to watch the sunset. They have a cute cafe where you can get drinks and a bite to eat. You can take it down to your lounge chairs or eat it on the deck overlooking the sea. The staff are very friendly and we enjoyed visiting a few times during our time in Sanremo.
